In Memory

Sue Smith (Annett)

Sondra "Sue" Smith Annett, 78, of Wichita passed away on Thursday September 10, 2020 in Wichita. Sue was born April 26th 1942 in small town Newton, Kansas. She was one of three children of parents Edwin and Vivian. She was very close friends with her two sisters, Bonnie and Joyce. Sue raised three children, Tim, Tonia and Troy. Even though she had three children of her own, she was a mother to many. Her kind hearted spirit and generous nature would always take in anyone with wide open arms. Once all her children were grown, Sue moved with the love of her life, Jim to Las Vegas, Nevada. She lived there for 10 years and she claimed that those were some of the best years of her life. She loved Jim dearly and thought nothing but the world of him. While she was there she met one of her dearest and closest friends, Nita. She was blessed with two grandchildren, Tyler and Nichole. Once Sue moved back to Kansas, she and Nita kept in touch almost every day since. Sue had several hobbies, her favorites were baking, drawing and crocheting afghans for every friend and family member. In her later years her favorite thing to do though was spending quality time with loved ones. Her heart would be so full after every phone call and every visit she got to have. She enjoyed going to Jimmie’s diner for breakfast with her sister Joyce. She looked forward to the early morning phone calls from her daughter Tonia and granddaughter Nichole on their way to work each day. It would make her day when she would be able to catch up with her son Troy and his wife Angie on the weekends. She cherished the moments when her son Tim would drive down and spend the weekend with her. One of her most favorite visits was to go see her grandson Tyler and great grandson, Taylor.

She always looked forward to seeing them both every other weekend. Sue loved many and was loved by many. She taught everyone what unconditional love is. Though she may not be here on this Earth going through life with us anymore she will never be forgotten. May she be at peace, looking down, watching over all of us. Until we meet again.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the American Heart Association.
