Henry (Hank) Sanceda

Enrique E. "Hank" Sanseda, 64, retired railroad and AGCO worker who also worked varied part time jobs and most recently at Wal-Mart, died Sunday, July 15, 2006 at Newton Medical Center. He was born July 15, 1942 to Philip and Susan (Espita) Sanseda in Newton. They preceded him in death. He married Rita Rodriguez September 26, 1964 in Newton. She survives of the home.

Hank was a people person and a hard worker, an avid bowler and golfer. His nickname was "The Fly." He loved baseball and played both fast-pitch and slow-pitch softball. He was named to the Mexican American Athletic Club of Newton Hall of Fame. He was a graduate of Newton HIgh School where he played baseball and went to State in wrestling. He was a beloved grandfather.

At the time of his death he was also survived by two daughters, Kathy Johns of Newton and Annette Paronto of Valley Center; a son, Phillip Sanseda of Newton; a nephew, tom Borrego of Wichita; and eight grandchildren.

Funeral services and Rosery were at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church with Father Floyd McKinney officiating. Visitation was held at Petersen Funeral Home.

A memorial was established for the Mexican-American Athletic Club in care of the funeral home.
