I was a classmate of Bruce, and attended Bethel College Mennonite Church with him.  He was a very good friend.  In High School, I did not date much, being shy.  Bruce kept lining me up with blind dates.  I was so shy that I could not talk to girls one on one.  I was, however, class clown.  I though highly of him, Pete, Linda, and Roger.
